On 30th January, 2018, James Harden scored 60 points, dished out 11 assists and collected 10 rebounds.
The triple-double that Harden recorded against the Orlando Magic happens to be very special. In posting that incredible stat-line, Harden became the first player in NBA history to record a 60 point triple-double.
While Harden had been the firm favorite for the MVP award, we had talked about a few others who could pip the guard for the award. This outworldly performance, however, has probably locked Harden’s name as the NBA’s most valuable player. If it has not set his name in stone, then it definitely has given him a nearly unassailable lead in the race for MVP.
Harden’s 60 points were a career-high for him, breaking his previous career-high of 57 points in a game. In addition to breaking his own personal best, Harden also set new NBA and franchise records.
